My name is Anne Wright. I am a Dietitian with a special interest in Diabetes and have spent many years helping people to prevent the onset of Diabetes and, for those already diagnosed with Diabetes – to manage their blood sugars through diet and lifestyle therapies.

Having a strong family history of Diabetes, I had seen family members struggle with their treatments and control over the years and have been conscious of preventing the onset of Type 2 Diabetes myself.

When I became a Dietitian, 25 years ago, I decided to specialise in Diabetes and soon found myself on the path to working in Diabetes Care.

My dietetic career has been International; across both Australia and the United Kingdom. I have spent the last fifteen years working in the North West of England as a Senior Community Dietitian, as Chief/Advanced practitioner in Diabetes at Aintree Hospital/Walton Diabetes Centre- Liverpool and then as a University Lecturer where I was Programme Leader MSc. Diabetes Management, Programme Leader in Human Nutrition and Senior Lecturer in Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Chester. I have also been a programme development group member for the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) for Diabetes guideline development and am a British Dietetic Association Media Spokesperson. I now work solely in private practice.

I have helped many, many people with their Diabetes care .

This has included those with all types of Diabetes, at all stages of their lives. Whilst working with NHS was a wonderful experience, I was never able to give people the time and support that I can in private practice. I now have the luxury of being able to spend more time, a good hour, with my clients, listening to them and getting to know how their Diabetes impacts their lives. I am able to put care plans into place that are individual to each client. I offer up to date, evidence based approaches to diabetes management. I use a holistic, health coaching method.
